Viewing pages in high-contrast mode

Internet Explorer will ignore your Windows settings and display the page as it was originally created unless you do the following:

1. In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, select Internet Options and then select Accessibility.
2. Check Ignore Colors Specified On Web Pages , Ignore Font Styles Specified On Web Pages, and Ignore Font Sizes Specified On Web Pages, and then click OK

For information about viewing pages in high-contrast mode using other Web browsers, consult the Help section for your browser.

Alt tags

Images used on our website pages contain 'alt tags,' which provide a text description of the image for use with screen readers or other assistive technologies. In cases where an alt tag would provide no information or would be redundant with bordering text, alt tags may be excluded.

Finding information more quickly

If you do not want to check through all the details on a web page, check if your browser has the facility to allow you to find a word quickly. For example, in Internet Explorer, go to "Edit" then "Find". Type in the word that you would like to find, then select "Find next". Once you have found the word you are looking for, don't forget to select "cancel" to close the facility. This is useful to use on a web page where there is lots of information.

Screen reader users have the option to select "skip alphabet" and go straight to the content.

Filling in an electronic Form

Remember to switch forms mode on and off when filling in a form. This is important to prevent vital information from being left out.

JAWS users

Press the enter key when you are focused on the edit box/combo box/radio button/check box, in order to turn forms mode on in JAWS. Then type in or select criteria as required. To turn forms mode off, press the plus key.
